Tamahagane Ceramic Honing Rod

A ceramic honing rod is used to maintain the existing edge of your knife. 

The fine and hard ceramic structure will raise and straighten your edge, keeping it sharp. Over time the edge will be rounded off, making the shape of the edge more like a U and less like a V. When it becomes increasingly difficult to bring back the sharpness, it's time to send it to us have it professionally sharpened.
